Sumario:The application of Pade approximants to the scattering problem is considered. The following topics are covered: unitarity, crossing and analyticity problems; poles, Regge poles and unstable particles; practical convergence; strong interaction processes. It is concluded that the Pade approximation compares favourably with other approximation schemes for strong interaction physics. (86 refs).
