Validity of the nuclear model

Reports on several recent calculations with a potential model of the low energy NN interaction. The motivation is twofold. First we want to go beyond the mass spectrum of baryonium and predict decay rates, production cross-sections, etc., for a more objective comparison with experiment. Secondly, the role of annihilation forces is analysed and the author tries to determine whether or not the large inelastic cross-sections are compatible with the existence of some narrow NN bound states.
