Second CARE-HHH-APD Workshop on Scenarios for the LHC Luminosity Upgrade: Arcidosso, Italy 31 Aug - 3 Sep 2005

This report contains the Proceedings of the CARE–HHH–APD Workshop on ‘Scenarios for the LHC Luminosity Upgrade’, “LHC-LUMI-05”, held in Arcidosso, Italy, from 31 August to 3 September 2005. The workshop discussed optical designs and the corresponding luminosity performance for alternative LHC IR layouts with reduced ; beam–beam compensation schemes, crab cavities, and machine-experiment interface (reduced l ); and the machine and magnet parameters for new high-energy injectors, in particular a superconducting SPS, needed to increase the integrated LHC luminosity.
