Capstan to be used with a camera for rapid cycling bubble chambers

To achieve the high speed film transport required for high camera rate (15 and 25 Hz, for LEBC and RCBC respectively) a new drive mechanism was developed, which moved the frames (up to about 110 mm x 90 mm) by rotating a capstan stepwise through 60 deg, to bring the next face into position for photography (see also photo 7801001).
