description The photo shows Klaus Brand from the ISR BOM group with the working model of the Split-Field Magnet, while setting up the field measuring bench. The bench used Hall probes for which he had developed the electronics instrumentation (ISR-BOM Int. Note 12-01-1977). The SFM model made of mild steel with copper coils had been measured in the years 1969-1970. This new mapping campaign was related to the installation of a large calorimeter to one side of the magnet.
