Sumario:A heavy target, nicknamed STAC, was used together with the NA2 large spectrometer for the study of muon-nucleon scattering by the European Muon Collaboration (EMC). It was built at DESY, and there tested in an electron beam, then in an SPS hadron beam in the West Hall. It consists of 26 iron/scintillator sandwich elements to measure the energy which the 280 GeV primary muon looses during its interaction in the target. and tested in an electron beam
