At R702

In this experiment the CERN-Saclay-ETH Zurich-Tel Aviv Collaboration searched for charmed particles and electron pairs. In 1976 and then 1977 the collaboration added the vertical muon spectrometer, and the picture shows the final installation. It was used to search for opposite sign electron-muon coincidences, as a signature for charmed particles. This was an addition to R702 following a proposal by Burton Richter who was on a sabbatical at CERN during that time. Here Peter Jenni and Hans Hoffmann.
