Sumario:The results from the PS185 experiment on antihyperon‐hyperon production in antiproton‐proton collisions at the CERN antiproton facility LEAR are reviewed. Emphasis is placed on the p̄p → Λ̄Λ channel for which there are high precision data. The use of a transversely polarised target in the PS185/3 experiment made it possible, by exploiting symmetries, to extract the complete scattering matrix for this reaction. The prospects of extending these kinds of measurements into the multiple strange and charm sector at the upcoming FAIR facility are also discussed.
