Assembling a 'wiggler' magnet with a view to LEP

Electron and positron beams, to be accelerated in the PS for onward transmission to the SPS and LEP, are not normally stable in a combined-function machine. This effect can be corrected by using 'wiggler' magnets. See Annul Report 1983 p. 87, Fig. 6.
