Sumario: | The on-line isotope mass separator ISOLDE is the radioactive beam facility of CERN. Its objective is the production and research of nuclei far from stability. Exotic nuclei of most chemical elements are available for the study of nuclear structure, nuclear astrophysics, fundamental symmetries and atomic physics, and for applications in condensed-matter and life sciences. A description of the facility, some recent results and future plans are presented here. |
