Hadron Production Measurements in NA61/SHINE for the Precise T2K Neutrino Flux Prediction and the Cosmic ray Physics Program

Results from NA61/SHINE on determination of charged hadron yields in hadron-nucleus interactions are presented. They are based on data sets registered in 2007, 2009 and 2010. For the cosmic ray physics program, pion-carbon interactions were recorded with 158 GeV/c and 350 GeV/c pion beam momentum. F...

description Results from NA61/SHINE on determination of charged hadron yields in hadron-nucleus interactions are presented. They are based on data sets registered in 2007, 2009 and 2010. For the cosmic ray physics program, pion-carbon interactions were recorded with 158 GeV/c and 350 GeV/c pion beam momentum. For the neutrino physics program, proton-carbon interactions were recorded using a proton beam of 31 GeV/c momentum. Two different carbon targets were used: a thin (0.04 λI) target and a replica target of the T2K experiment (1.9 λI).
