Rare decays at LHCb

LHCb is playing a crucial role in the study of rare and forbidden decays of charm hadrons, which might reveal effects beyond the Standard Model. Results on the D 0 → h + h − μ + μ − and D 0 → e ± μ ∓ decays are presented together with some prospects on the LHC future runs.
