Creating proton-proton collisions physicists check the Standard Model of physics and search for new phenomena – physics beyond the Standard Model.The approach used in the present thesis is called MUSiC – Model Independent Search in CMS – and performs a systematic search for deviations from the Standard Model prediction of multiple final states recorded by the CMS detector at the LHC. In the context of this work, a new object – the τ Lepton – is introduced into the MUSiC environment. Subsequently, a scan of the full CMS dataset of 2011 is performed. In order to inspect the sensitivity of the MUSiC environment a sensitivity study with a W′ signal is conducted. Hereby, the W′ is a heave gauge boson – a hypothetical extension of the Standard Model. The results of the data analysis and of the sensitivity study are presented and discussed in the present master thesis.
