Sumario: | The electron/photon trigger is in many ways the most challenging part of the first-level
calorimeter trigger. With thresholds suitable for the proposed physics of a high-luminosity
LHC it is likely to dominate the first-level trigger rate. Physics simulations have been used to
study the performance of possible e/γ trigger algorithms. Results on the dependence of the
trigger performance on the main parameters of the algorithms are presented, together with
preliminary estimates of the possible first-level electromagnetic trigger rates for high-
luminosity (2×1034 cm-2s-1) LHC operation. |
