Results from the NA48 experiment at CERN
The NA48 experiment aims at a measurement of the parameter $\epsilon'/\epsilon$ of direct CP violation with a precision of $2 x 10^{-4}$ First data taken in 1997 show good detector performance. Signals for the rare decays $K_L \to ee\gamma$ and $K_L \to ee\gamma\gamma$ have been seen.
