Sumario: | The NA48 experiment is conceived to measure with great accuracy the parameter Re $(\epsilon'/\epsilon)$ , which quantifies the amount of direct CP violation in the $K^0 \bar{K}^0$ system. The first result, based on the data acquired during the 1997 run, has been published last year. A preliminary analysis of the 1998 data, corresponding to a statistical sample about three times larger than the 1997 one, is presented, leading to the result Re $(\epsilon'/\epsilon)$ = (12.2 ± 4.9) x 10-4 |
