Sumario:The LHC Machine Protection System needs to adapt to the Run 2 operational requirements. In addition, important upgrades and consolidations have been implemented on the MPS backbone during the first long shutdown. This paper summarizes the changes affecting Beam Interlock System (BIS), Powering Interlock System (PIC), Fast Magnet Current Change Monitors (FMCM), Quench Protection System (QPS) and Software Interlock System (SIS).
