Sumario: | This thesis presents a measurement of the fiducial differential cross-section with respect to pT of Higgs boson production, using the diphoton decay channel. The analysis uses 20.3 $fb^{−1}$ of proton-proton collision data at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV taken with the ATLAS detector in the year 2012. The diphoton invariant mass spectrum is measured, and a fitting procedure is used to extract the signal. The measured signal is corrected for detector inefficiencies and resolution effects to produce a fiducial differential cross-section, which is compared to theoretical predictions. The measurement is statistically limited, but broadly compatible with theoretical expectations. |
