description | In the year 2011, the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider collected 4.7 inverse femtobarn of data at a center of mass energy of 7 TeV. Part of the extensive physics programm of the ATLAS experiment is the search for physics beyond the standard model. Supersymmetry - a new symmetry which transforms bosons into fermions and vice versa - is considered to be the most promising candidate for new physics, and numerous direct and indirect searches for supersymmetry have been performed over the last decades. In the following thesis, a direct search for supersymmetry in final states with jets, missing transverse energy and exactly one electron or muon is performed. The analyzed dataset of 4.7 inverse femtobarn contains all data that was collected with the ATLAS experiment at a center of mass energy of 7 TeV. The results of the analysis are combined with several other leptonic search channels in order to maximize the sensitivity on various supersymmetric production and decay mechanisms. No deviation between measured data and standard model expectation is observed, and limits are set in several different supersymmetric models. |
