Sumario:The subject of this Dissertation is to study the hard double diffraction for CMS low luminosity running (5×1032 cm−2 s −1 ). The proccess was simulated with the generator PHOJET v1.12 [27], together with the fast CMS simulation code FAMOS [28], version 1.4.0. The dominant background is the overlap of diffractive and non-diffractive events. We use the jet pseudorapidity separation to tag the diffractive events. Otherwise, we use the calorimeters to tag the events with gap. For an integrated luminosity of 1 fb−1 we obtain a number of events of 1010 for the background, while 108 for the diffractive signal.
