A study of the dynamics of isolated-photon plus jet production in pp collisions at √8= 7 TeV with the ATLAS detector
The production of prompt photons in association with jets in proton-proton collisions provides a testing ground of perturbative QCD (pQCD) in a cleaner environment than jet production since the photon originates directly from the hard interaction and does not undergo hadronisation. Sumario: | The production of prompt photons in association with jets in proton-proton collisions provides a testing ground of perturbative QCD (pQCD) in a cleaner environment than jet production since the photon originates directly from the hard interaction and does not undergo hadronisation. At LHC, the process pp → γ jet X proceeds via two production mechanisms: direct photon, in which the photon originates in the hard process, and fragmentation photons, in which the photon is produced in the fragmentation of a coloured high transverse momentum, PT , parton [1]. |
