description The ICARUS T600 detector has been successfully operated for three years at the Italian Gran Sasso Underground Laboratory (LNGS), collecting cosmic neutrinos and ’s from the CERN-Neutrino-to-Gran-Sasso (CNGS) beam. The experiment was completed in 2013, and in December 2014 the detector was moved to CERN for a complete overhaul, which took 2.5 years. Its main goal was to introduce new detectors and technological solutions (hardware- and software-wise), to a TPC that already proved to be a perfect instrument for neutrino physics. This allows exploiting the T600 as far station within the shallow-depth, Short Baseline Neutrino program (SBN) at FNAL, dedicated to the definitive clarification of the sterile neutrino hypothesis.
