Sumario:Classical electrodynamic theory is a required theoretical training for physicist and engineers working with particle accelerators. The basic and empirical phenomena are reviewed and lead to the Maxwell equations, which form the framework for any calculations involving electromagnetic fields. Some necessary mathematical background is included in the appendices so the reader can follow the work and the conventions used in this text. Plane waves in vacuum and in different media, radiofrequency cavities and the propagation in wave guide are presented.
