Sumario: | The TOTEM experiment is taking data since 2010 and has produced a large set of measurements on diffractive processes and pp cross sections. In this paper, after a general overview of the detector, the results obtained on total, inelastic and elastic cross section at different energies will be reported. The measurements on the ρ parameter and the recent studies on the Coulomb-Nuclear interference region will be also presented and discussed. Joint results obtained by the TOTEM and CMS experiment on the forward charged particle distribution are reviewed. During the last two years the detector has been upgraded with new timing detectors, opening the way to a new physics program to be carried out with a joint collaboration between the TOTEM and CMS experiments. |
