description We present the results of aging and discharge probability studies of CMS (Compact Muon Solenoid) triple-GEM detectors. These studies has been performed in the framework of an R&D; activity on triple-GEM detectors for the innermost region of the muon spectrometer of the CMS experiment in order to confirm the robustness of the triple-GEM technology and evaluate the effect of the irradiation and neutron-induced discharges on the long-term detector operation.
