description A comprehensive strategy to test a new digital acquisition board has been implemented by the Beam Instrumentation Group of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) as part of a wider methodology for the design, production, test, and operation of high dependability electronic systems. This includes test benches for component and functional testing during production, as well as for validation and burn-in upon reception. The validation tests are performed over a variety of temperature and humidity ranges to define the environmental tolerances of the board. The results of such validation tests provide the necessary parameters to tailor a customized strategy for burn-in.
