Products of 4.5 to 9 MeV per nucleon heavy-ion collisions, such as $^{136}$Xe beam on $^{208}$Pb target, are to be captured in a gas cell, selectively laser-ionized and then transported towards mass separator by a sextupole (or quadrupole) ion guide extraction system. |
