Sumario:The CONUS reactor neutrino experiment aims to measure coherent elastic neutrinonucleus scattering on germanium nuclei. The experiment is located at about 17 mdistance from the 3.9 GW core of the commercial power plant in Brokdorf,Germany. For the project point contact germanium detectors equipped withelectric cryocooling were developed and optimised, which allows to measure atthe sub keV range with background rates of a few events per kg, day and keV. Theneutron and gamma-ray background on-site was monitored in dedicated campaignsduring reactor on and off periods. In addition, various Monte Carlo simulationsof the neutron and γ-ray field as well as the muon-induced background werecarried out. It was found that the background contributions correlated to thethermal reactor power have minor impact on the coherent scattering analysis. Dueto statistical limitations no significant event excess from neutrinos isobserved in the analysed data set.
