Sumario:The twentieth century saw the birth and the development of new areas of physics which were unthinkable until then: the physics of the elementary particles or Particle Physics (further referred to as PP), the Quantum Mechanics (further referred to as QM) as well as the new Relativity Theory (further referred to as RT), that is, the Special and the General Theory of Relativity (SRT and GRT, respectively) They have deeply integrated our knowledge and have changed, probably permanently, our perception of reality. They were developed in those which, in many respects, could be considered very intense and devastating years. Think, for instance, of the events of the 20$^{th}$ century: the First World War, the advent of Fascism in Italy, the Weimar Republic (whose meaning for physics is outlined by the controversial essay by Paul Forman$^{3}$), and the advent of Nazism in Germany, the Second World War, the Cold War, the political upheavals from 1968 onwards which continued until at least the mid-1980s (with the peculiar Italian situation), the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, which had been erected overnight in 1961, the war in Korea (1950-1953), Vietnam (1955-1975), and Yugoslavia (1991-1995), and so on.
