description This paper is dedicated to the experimental study of $\Xi _{b}^{ - }$ baryons reconstruction using the data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC in 2016–2018 in proton–proton collisions with center-of-mass energy $\sqrt s = 13$ TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 140 fb$^{–1}$. The obtained signal yield of $\Xi _{b}^{ - } \to J{\text{/}}\psi {{\Xi }^{ - }}$ decay mode is more than 900 events, where $J{\text{/}}\psi \to {{\mu }^{ + }}{{\mu }^{ - }}$,${{\Xi }^{ - }} \to \Lambda {{\pi }^{ - }}$, $\Lambda \to p{{\pi }^{ - }}$. The measured mass of the $\Xi _{b}^{ - }$ baryon is in a good agreement with the world-average mass, and the results present the promising opportunity of beauty hadrons spectroscopy studies with the CMS detector.
