description The physics analysis of the H → WW(*) → 2l2ν decay channel has been performed using Monte Carlo generated data processed using the CMS full simulation and reconstruction programs. The cross sections of the relevant physics processes, estimated at the leading order in the full simulation, are corrected at the next-to-leading order. Sources of systematic uncertainties as well as methods to determine backgrounds from the real data are reported. The resulting expected signal significance is given as a function of the Higgs mass. The strategy for the low Higgs mass region is discussed.
