The feasibility study of reconstructing a Y(4260)-like state with the ATLAS detector at the LHC
A Monte Carlo simulation study of the feasibility of reconstructing a Y(4260)-like state within the mass range 3.7-6.0 GeV/ c 2 decaying into J / ψhh , where h is a charged pion or a charged kaon, is carried out with the Atlas detector using the default event trigger conditions. Sumario: | A Monte Carlo simulation study of the feasibility of reconstructing a Y(4260)-like state within the mass range 3.7-6.0 GeV/ c 2 decaying into J / ψhh , where h is a charged pion or a charged kaon, is carried out with the Atlas detector using the default event trigger conditions. The variations in the Y(4260)-like state detection efficiency resulting from possible p T trigger are presented. The criterion on the reconstructed proper time of the J / ψhh , where h system is proposed to reject backgrounds from B -meson decays. Additional studies needed to fully determine the Y(4260)-like state detection efficiency and the rejection of all backgrounds is summarized for future study. |
