El crecimiento de Pinus cembroides y P. orizabensis difiere en humedad normal y en sequía edáfica.
La capacidad de resistir la sequía fue diferente entre procedencias.
La raíz fue la variable más sensible al déficit hídrico.
En P. cembroides, el mayor crecimiento ocurrió en plántulas procedentes de la población más árida.
En P. orizabensis, la población con mayor crecimiento fue la de mayor elevación.
