Sumario: | The new rurality has made way to the need to recognize the multifunctionality of rural areas and the pluriactivity of rural families, by seeing opportunities for the development from different dimensions (environmental, economic, cultural, political, institutional and social). This article assesses if rural tourism is an alternative for territorial development in Llachón, where it was developed in a self-managed way. The study used a mixed methodology that allowed obtaining quantitative and qualitative information, for this surveys and semi-structured interviews were applied with a sample of the families that work with tourism and with those who do not do so in order to make a comparison between the two groups. From the results obtained, it is concluded that the rural tourism activity in the community of Llachón, contributes to the territorial development, since the families of the respondents who are dedicated to rural tourism improved their economic income compared with those who do not carry out this activity. On the other hand, it can be seen that tourism contributed to the improvement of the community environment, as well as to the assessment and preservation of local culture and the community organization were improved. |
