Parafraseando el título de la novela de John Steinbeck “las uvas de la ira” Saldívar titula su texto como “las aguas de la ira”, de entrada, es importante señalar que la obra que aquí se comenta no adquiere totalmente el tono de reclamo indignado con el que escribe Steinbeck, quien denuncia a “los codiciosos cabrones que han causado esto”, el autor se refiere a la gran crisis económica del 29 conocida como el gran crac o la gran depresión. De la lectura del texto se puede colegir que el autor de “las aguas de la ira” usa un tono de denuncia académica, sin mostrar la indignación de Steinbeck, al hablar de la crisis global del agua.
