Sumario:Organizational culture consists of a system of shared beliefs and values to which the member of an organization adhere. There are various factors that condition it, including those located in the environment and those that depend on the company itself. Agricultural companies have their own characteristics that, due to their nature, differentiate them from other sectors. The objective of this research was to characterize the organizational culture of the rural companies called Nopal Producer from El Arenal, Hidalgo, using interviews and three participatory workshops under the approach of Localized Agri-food Systems. As a result, the identification of both external and internal variables within the company stands out. The producers showed an absence of leadership, motivation, communication and organization, and therefore, a weak organizational culture was determined, which jeopardizes the community the continuity of the company. Some relevant factors derived from territorial and historical anchorage, known as root factors, were observed.
