description | Climate change continuously affects the agricultural system, primarily impacting small-scale productions (SSPs), as they depend mainly on natural resources for production. They constantly experience environmental, social, and economic disturbances. Therefore, it is essential to understand the response of small-scale producers to these disturbances. This work aims to determine the resilience capacity of SSPs in Ixtlahuaca, State of Mexico, by analyzing 70 SSPs in constant exposure using a composite resilience indicator. The disturbances that have the most significant impact are unemployment and drought. As a result, four resilience levels were identified based on the employed strategies. The majority of productions belong to those with the capacity for persistence (41, 59 %), followed by those in the process of adaptation (18, 26 %), transformation occurring to a lesser degree (8, 11 %), and those without resilience (3, 4 %). In conclusion, resilience provides a variety of strategies to deal with uncertainty through decision-making, the presence of which is essential. |

El cambio climático afecta continuamente al sistema agropecuario, impactando principalmente a las producciones en pequeña escala (PPE), debido a que, dependen principalmente de los recursos naturales para producir. Continuamente sufren perturbaciones ambientales, sociales y económicas. Por ello, es importante conocer ¿cuál es la respuesta de los productores de pequeña escala ante las perturbaciones? Siendo el objetivo del trabajo determinar la capacidad de resiliencia de PPE de Ixtlahuaca, Estado de México. Analizando 70 PPE en constante exposición mediante un indicador compuesto para resiliencia. Las perturbaciones que mayor afectan son el desempleo y la sequía. Como resultado se obtuvieron cuatro niveles de resiliencia establecidos por las estrategias empleadas. Obteniendo como resultado que la mayoría de las producciones pertenecen a la capacidad de permanencia = 41 (59 %), seguidas de las que se encuentran en proceso de adaptación =18 (26 %), la trasformación se presenta en menor grado = 8 (11 %) y las que no presentan resiliencia =3 (4 %). En conclusión, la resiliencia brinda diversidad de estrategias para lidiar con la incertidumbre mediante la toma de decisiones cuya presencia es clave.
