In the present, the agronomic and environmental information regarding pear production in Veracruz is little. There is not historical data about its planting, and agronomic and commercial development. 40 Surveys with small pear producers were performed in Tlaquilpa, Soledad Atzompa, and Tehuipango counties. The information was analyzed by principal component (PCs). In general the pear growers did not control pests and diseases, they did not mix the pear trees with other crops. Few producers applied lime and fertilizers to the soil. The fruit mainly is own consumed and few is sold in regional markets. Pear trees were also geo-referenced in the three mentioned counties and in Calcahualco. The trees were growing between 1958 m and 2637 m of altitude. The average maximum teperatures trough November, December and January were in Tlaquilpa 16.8º, Tehuipango 17.8º, Soledad Atzompa 18.5º, and Calcahualco 21.0º. The average minimum temperatures in these months were in Tlaquilpa 6.6º, Tehuipango 7.7º, Soledad Atzompa 7.9º, and Calcahualco 2.6º. In Tlaquilpa and Soledad Atzompa the trees were established in a Chromic luvisol with a illitic phase, in Tehuipango in Haplic phaeoezem, and in Calcahualco in humic Andosol. Kieffer is the pear mostly growing in those counties. |

En los años sesenta, a través de programas gubernamentales se introdujeron árboles de pera en los municipios de Tlaquilpa, Soledad Atzompa y Tehuipango, en Veracruz, por ser sitios fríos para posibilitar su floración. Actualmente, la información agronómica y ambiental relacionada con la producción de pera es escasa, no existen datos históricos sobre su establecimiento, desarrollo agronómico y comercial, por lo que se realizaron encuestas con pequeños productores para obtener información en las que se utilizaron componentes principales (CP). En general, los pequeños productores no ejecutaron un control de plagas y enfermedades ni asociaron sus árboles con otros cultivos, tampoco aplicaron cal y fertilizantes al suelo. La mayoría de la fruta fue para autoconsumo y el resto se comercializó en mercados regionales; también se georeferenciaron perales en esos tres municipios y en Calcahualco, establecidos entre los 1 958 m y 2 637 m de altitud, en donde la temperatura media máxima promedio en los meses de noviembre, diciembre y enero fue de 16.8° en Tlaquilpa, de 17.8º en Tehuipango, de 18.5º en Soledad Atzompa, y de 21.0º en Calcahualco. Las mínimas promedio en esos meses fueron de 6.6º en Tlaquilpa, de 7.9º en Tehuipango, de 7.9º en Soledad Atzompa, y de 2.6º en Calcahualco. En Tlaquilpa y Soledad Atzompa se establecieron los árboles en un suelo luvisol crómico con fase lítica, en Tehuipango en un feozem haplico, y en Calcahualco en un andosol húmico. Finalmente se determinó que la mayoría de pera existente en esos municipios es del cultivar Kieffer.
