description | The development of commercial forest plantations in Mexico is a great opportunity for the forestry sector due to the climatic and edaphological conditions that the country presents. The cultivation of rubber (Hevea brasiliensis) as a commercial forest plantation offers many benefits; however, the potential of this crop was not developed mainly due to the lack of knowledge of the suitability of the land for it. In this work is used the method of multi-criteria analysis and hierarchical analysis process for the zoning of potential optimal areas for the establishment of rubber plantations in the state of Oaxaca. The modeling was carried out from the agroecological requirements of H. brasiliensis and weighting of variables in a Geographic Information Systems environment. The hierarchies between the criteria to be weighted were defined with the support of specialized technicians and farmers related to the cultivation of rubber. The results indicate that the most important criterion for the modeling was the climate with a weighted average weight of 0.30 in precipitation, followed by temperatures (0.17). Based on the principles of Multicriteria Analysis it was possible to show that in the optimal development of Hevea brasiliensis climatic, edaphic and topographical factors are determinant. The optimal potential for the cultivation of rubber in the state are the municipalities of Matias Romero, Juan Lana, San Juan Bautista Tuxtepec, Santiago Jocotepec and Santiago Yaveo. It is hoped that the methodology employed will serve as a basis for similar applications with other species. |

El desarrollo de plantaciones forestales comerciales en México es una gran oportunidad para el sector forestal debido a las condiciones climáticas y edafológicas que presenta el país. El cultivo del hule (Hevea brasiliensis) como plantación forestal comercial ofrece muchos beneficios; sin embargo, no se ha desarrollado el potencial de este cultivo debido a diversos factores relacionados con el proceso productivo y a la falta de planeación para el mismo. En este trabajo se utiliza el método de análisis multicriterio y proceso de análisis jerarquizado para la zonificación de áreas potenciales óptimas para el establecimiento de plantaciones de hule en el estado de Oaxaca. La modelación se realizó a partir de los requerimientos edafoclimáticos de H. brasiliensis y ponderación de variables en un ambiente de Sistemas de Información Geográfica. Las jerarquías entre los criterios por ponderar se definieron con el apoyo de técnicos especializados y de agricultores relacionados con el cultivo del hule. Los resultados señalan que el criterio más importante para la modelación fue el clima con una ponderaciónde 0.30 en precipitación, seguido por las temperaturas (0.17). Con base en los principios del Análisis Multicriterio fue posible manifestar que en el desarrollo potencial óptimo de H. brasiliensis son determinantes los factores climáticos, edáficos y topográficos. El potencial óptimo para el cultivo del hule en el estado son los municipios de Matias Romero, Juan Lana, San Juan Bautista Tuxtepec, Santiago Jocotepec y Santiago Yaveo. Se espera que la metodología empleada sirva de base para aplicaciones similares con otras especies.
