description AbstractStarting from the notions of melancholy and mourning, this essay reviews some poems by Abigael Bohórquez in which the recurring motif is lost love, as well as the meaning that the lyrical self gives to the past from the present. Through poetry, the poetic voice communicates its love experiences from the loss of the loved and desired subject. It is the author’s poetry that unfolds an autobiographical discourse in which he builds himself and his young lovers from the impossibility of love or absence. Homoeroticism is insufficient within the lovemaking practices that the lyrical voice refers to, since they are interrupted or fleeting stories that lead to melancholy manifestation and mourning.

Homoeroticism is insufficient within the lovemaking practices that the lyrical voice refers to, since they are interrupted or fleeting stories that lead to melancholy manifestation and mourning. “I will go singing my first old age”.
