Danza contemporánea independiente. Trayectoria hacia la institucionalización

Estudio sobre el Movimiento de Danza Contemporánea Independiente en México, desde sus inicios a finales de la década de 1970 hasta la actualidad, retomando las categorías de campo y capital de Pierre Bourdieu. El estudio se centra en el grupo Forion Ensamble que inauguró dicho Movimiento en 1977, así como en El Cuerpo Mutable, una de las vertientes que tomó y le permitió tener continuidad desde 1982. Se busca conocer la posición que ha ocupado la propuesta de Lidya Romero, una de sus líderes, en el campo dancístico, sus transformaciones artísticas y organizacionales. También explora su poder de diálogo con la burocracia cultural y su incorporación a esta, además de sus adecuaciones y confrontaciones con las políticas culturales sexenales. Paths towards institutionalization Abstract This article discusses the Independent Contemporary Dance Movement (MDCI) in Mexico, from its beginnings in the late seventies of the last century up to the present, and takes up Pierre Bourdieu’ categories of field and capital. The study focuses on the group that gave rise to this movement, Forion Ensamble 1977, and one of the shapes it took and allowed it to continue, El Cuerpo Mutable, since 1982. It seeks to know the position these troupes have occupied in Mexican dance field, their artistic and organizational transformations, and Lidya Romero’s decisive role as one of their leaders. It also explores their ability to engage in dialogue with the country’s cultural bureaucracy until they ultimately became part of it, in addition to their adjustments to and clashes with the cultural policies that accompany political cycles in Mexico’s changing governing leadership.
