The texting language does not present grammatical rules or structure and its meaning is contextual (Betti, 2012).  La generación del pulgar (Brooke, 2002), llamada por utilizar el dedo pulgar para teclear en las herramientas de las Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación (TIC) móviles, al escribir y leer en lenguaje texting requiere de rapidez, simplicidad y economía, lo que hace que, en muchas ocasiones, los interlocutores prefieran dejar de lado las reglas gramaticales y ortográficas en búsqueda de una mayor eficacia comunicativa. El lenguaje texting no presenta reglas gramaticales ni estructura y su significado es contextual (Betti, 2012).
