Social participation for local development. The case of the municipality of San Luis, Santiago de Cuba

The research Social participation for local development. The case of the municipality of San Luis, Santiago de Cuba analyzes the socio-cultural factors that affect social participation for the local development of a municipality. The results in the practical order favor the strengthening of the relations between the University and the Local Government of San Luis which offers a socio-economic and cultural characterization with data that allow to evaluate their management from the community social participation, as well as a conceptual map which describes tools for training. The scientific results are socialized through the GUCID Network and DL of the Universidad de Oriente with the proposal of a development concept centered on the person, their cosmovisions and practices in their links with the environment and their cultures. A program is provided for the training of local development actors. The results of this research fall within the priorities established by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Guidelines for the Economic and Social Policy of the Party and the Cuban State.
