Sumario:Within the framework of a macro-project on personal development, the opinions of young people from Cartagena are investigated regarding the planning and execution of the life project, in addition, it seeks to know the needs and limitations that they present in relation to the subject. In the initial research, 150 young people with ages between 20 and 25 years old and from social class 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 participated. The methodology used is of a cross-sectional descriptive type. The results showed that a considerable number of young people do not have their life project structured, even so, they state that they would like to have a guide for planning this, in the same way, considering that success is associated with certain attributes personal skills and that the skill they would most like to enhance is emotional intelligence. Among the conclusions, the importance of the design of the life project is highlighted since it allows them to establish a purpose that gives meaning to their existence, also, on the way to comply with this, they protect themselves from falling into risky situations typical of the youth stage.
