Sumario:The way to approach knowledge varies with each period. Three hundred years after the leadership of the Cartesian paradigm, which fragments the world in order to understand it, it becomes essential to move forward towards a means of knowledge which contributes to solving the complex socio-environmental problems we experience nowadays. Transdisciplinarity thus appears as an approach that creates links among the fragmented components and enables synergies for a better understanding of reality. Ecosophy, as an ecological philosophy that invites humanity to learn to live harmoniously on the planet, requires a transdisciplinary vision to understand the complex interrelationships that occur in the place where we live and the influence that society has on them. Without a comprehensive and integrated knowledge of our planet Earth, it will be hard to choose the optimal way of acting to build a harmonious relationship between human beings and their environment.
