Through a documentary review, this article analyzes the characteristics of intercultural studies and the causes of these two different disciplines, presenting the current situation and its development in China. Also analyzing a case study: the National Academy of Chinese Theater Arts.

El desarrollo de los estudios interculturales en China tiene casi 40 años de historia, estos han tenido influencias de distintas investigaciones provenientes de occidente, tanto en el plano estilístico y de estructuración del discurso como a nivel teórico. Desde entonces diferentes disciplinas se han introducido, las más conocidas son la comunicación intercultural, basada en estudios de las lenguas extranjeras; y la communicación intercultural, basada en estudios de la comunicación. Este artículo a través de una revisión documental, analiza las características de los estudios interculturales y las causas de estas dos vertientes, presentando la situación actual y su desarrollo en China.
