ON ANTHROPOLOGICAL DUALISM AND THE APORIA OF THE IMPOTENCE OF THE SPIRIT IN THE LAST PHASE OF SCHELER’S THOUGHT

The essay brings elements for the analysis of the problem of impotence (Ohnmacht) of the spirit and its aporias, present in the last phase of Max Scheler's thought. A proper interpretation of the critical framework requires attention to the work The Human Place in the Cosmos and the essays contained in the Philosophical Worldview. We will address points related to the duality of Scheler's anthropological thought, as well as the concept of functionalization of the spirit. The opinions of philosophers such as Cassirer and Buber on the subject are also under consideration.
