Descripción
Sumario:The objective of this article is to reflect on how, from the 1930s to the 1980s, the mountainous region of Las Segovias was a strategic space for the Sandino guerrillas, for the combatants of the Sandinista National Liberation Front, for the counterinsurgency of the Democratic Nicaraguan Force, as well as for Sandino's Puppies. The difficult access and the availability of mountain resources favored the guerrillas, allowing them to obtain the collaboration of the peasants. On the other hand, the forms of combat were adapted to the conditions of the terrain, that is, irregular tactics, which did not favor the military incursions of the regular armies.
