Sumario:THE PAPER APPROACHES THE RELATION OF SIGNS WITH REALITY, THE GREATER OR LESSER FITTING OF SPEAKER'S NEEDS WITH RESPECT TO THE LINGUISTIC SINGS THE USE. THESE LANGUAGE RELATION ARE ALSO WITH THE THOUGHTS OF A CULTURE, FOR THE SING SYSTEM ADAPTS ITSELF TO ANY CULTURAL SITUATION. THE RELATION IS REVIEWD FROM HUMBOLDT TO AUSTIN, INCLUDING, AMONG OTHERS, SAUSSURE, BOAS, SAPIR AND WORF. THE CONSLUSION FOR OUR MODERN WORLD IS THAT WE MUST BE FLEXIBLE AND ADOPT THE THECNICAL TERMS COMING FROM OTHER LANGUAGES (AND CONSEQUENTLY OTHER CULTURES, OTHER WAYS OF UNDERSATANDING AND, ABOVE ALL, NAMING REALITY).
