Sumario: | THE SOCIOCULTURAL FACTORS THAT HAVE HAD IMPORTANT IMPLICATIONS FOR THE HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF ARCHIVAL SCIENCE ARE ANALYZED. WE TAKE AS SOCIOCULTURAL THOSE STRUCTURES WHICH RE MAIN CONSTANT DURING ALONG PERIOD OF TIME AND WHICH GIVE RISE TO A HISTORY OF ARCHIVAL SCIENCE; THAT IS THE STABLEELEMENTS. WE CONCEIVE THAT SUCH CULTURAL FACTORS ARE: WRITTEN CULTURE, ECCLESIASTI CALPRACTICE, JURIDICAL SAFEGUARD AND WARRANTY, BUREAUCRACY AND ITS VISION OF ARCHIVES AS A POLITICAL INSTRUMENT, HISTORICAL MEMORY AND THE INFORMATIVE FUNCTION. WE STATE THE WAY INWHICH EACH ONE OF THESE FACTORS HAS ARTICULATED BY WAY OF ITSHIS TORICALOC CURRENCE, THE CONFIGURATION OF ARCHIVAL SCIENCE. FROM THIS WE DRAWTWOMAIN RESULTS: FIRST, WE INFER THAT SUCH FACTORS ARE BASIC FOR THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE CULTURAL HISTORY OF ARCHIVAL SCIENCE, AN INNOVATIVE CONCEPT; AND SECOND, WE CONFIRM THE INTERDISCIPLINARY CHARACTER OF THE DISCIPLINE. IN CONCLUSION WE DEMONSTRATE THAT THE SAID SOCIOCULTURAL FACTORS HAVE CONTRIB UTED TO THE DEVEL OPMENT OF ARCHIVAL SCIENCE, EI THERTHROUGH ITS PRETENSIONS OF CONSERVATION AND UNTEMPORALITY, OR ASPROPITIATING ELEMENTS IN THE ADMINISTRATIVE COMPLEX ITY, OR AS POSITIVE ELEMENTS IN UTILIZATION OF THE DOCUMENT AS A POLITICAL AND CULTURAL INSTRUMENT, OR AS AGENTS WHICH DIRECTLY CONTRIBUTE TO THE INTEGRATION OF ARCHIVES WITH RESPECT TO THEIR IN FORMATION FUNCTION. |
